What is a domain?
A domain is like the address to your home but in this case your online home – your website or your blog.  Examples of domain names: www.wemekwebsites.com, www.gogreeninternational.com.   Your domain name starts after the www. What is domain hosting?
Domain hosting is service that displays your website online for the world to see. Without hosting your site will not be visible to anyone and would remain on your local hard drive visible only to you.  To get your site hosted you will be required to pay a fee to a hosting company. This fee varies and can be as low as $7.99 to as high as $59 monthly.  Hosting services are not made equal.  Some fees includes support, maintenance and updates while others offer no support, upgrade or maintenance.  Be informed on what your fees include before you commit to any hosting plan.

When do you need domain hosting?
We get asked this question a lot. The rule of thumb is this : You only need hosting when your site is built and ready to be launched. You do not need to purchase hosting when you purchase your domain name.  Many many domain resellers bundle domain purchase with hosting – that is not wise unless you have a site already built and about to be launched.  Purchase hosting only until you are ready to launch your site.  If you currently have hosting on domains that are just parked you may want to cancel that hosting until you need it and save yourself some money.

What is  free website plan?
This question is difficult to answer unless we knew that the program entails.  We will give an educated quess as to what this visitor is referring to from our review of different plans offered by other fellow designers.
There is no free lunch to use a North American expression, usually the free website is a clever marketing technique wherein the designer will design and build your site without an upfront payment – instead the business owner will pay for the site on a monthly basis. Another version is the designer will rent the site to you for a monthly fee. 
Disadvantage :You do not own your site or your domain name therefore you cannot change your host.  You usually end up paying WAY more for your site.
Advantage: You do not have to pay for your site upfront

I already have a domain – what should I do to get hosted with wemekwebsites.com?
You will need to contact your domain reseller and request that your domain be POINTED to the nameserver we host with.  We will provide that information to you.  You should NEVER CANCEL your domain name- you can point it to a different company for hosting, or TRANSFER it to  a different company but never never cancel your domain.   If you wish to change your reseller simply ask for your domain to be transferred – there might be a nominal fee involved by either the transferring or the reciepient reseller.  We will never request that you transfer your domain to another reseller – all we require to build your site is for your domain be pointed to the hosting company we use.  If you need further information regarding pointing your domain – please contact us.

Can we pay in our local currency?
Currently we are only accepting US and Jamaican currencies.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

How long does it take to get my site?
Between  5-10 business days after contract is signed and deposit is received.  For more complex sites it could take one month. Most of our sites are completed within the 5-10 business day once ALL  your information is received within 2 days.  For the best and fastest results – choose your style, pay your deposit, submit your photos, text content and your site will be ready on time. Once you have paid your deposit, we will secure your domain name for you if you do not already have a domain.

Why are your prices so low?
We are offering these prices for a limited time only.  Our prices will not remain low.   The Marketing Department will cancel this promotion at any time.  We have actually slashed our prices in half to help businesses out during this recession.  If you know of anyone who needs a website – now is the time to get it before we go back to our regular prices.
